Mermaid Beach installtion 2025

Mermaids are laying around on Mermaid Beach. The mermaids collect treasures from the seabed and carry them to the sand. The water laps gently, butterflies and dragonflies flit among the beach vegetation, and the sun beats down. It’s a hot summer day, sangria flows, and you can wear your favorite bikini because it’s summer! It’s wonderful to be together and enjoy life. If anyone understands that, it’s the mermaids. The exhibition was displayed at the Take Me Home Gallery in 2025. The exhibition featured textile artist Otto Rummukainen.

Studio Skaala's Public Artwork for Kallio Church in 2025

Studio Skaala's Public Artwork at Kallio Church in 2025

Communion Vessels and the Altar Cross, the Light Bearer.

The communion vessels were crafted in a workshop with parishioners, including the communion chalices.

I created a ceramic sculpture installation at Oksasenkatu 11 Dust sword and the universal stone for a group exhibition in January 2025. The series of works dealt with dying, withering, and grief. Death as a concept can be interpreted in many ways; in my opinion, the symbolism of death also represents metamorphosis and change. It depicts the ending of worlds so that new worlds can be born. It is the withering of the body, the cycle of nature. Grief, faith, hope, and love.

I have died a thousand times and been reborn just as many times.

Winters spring installation 2025

Roses, roses, roses installation 2024

"Roses, Roses, Roses" installation was presented in the 2024 group exhibition Uppelux 2024 at the Vapaan taiteen tila, Helsinki. The artwork blends fairy tales and romance. It speaks of longing and cries out a wish for love into a wishing well. The anticipation causes Sleeping Beauty to merge with desires and dreams.

Hauki installaatio 2024

Midsummer magic

2023

Rauha Aaltonen & Aeon Lux – A Midsummer Night's Dream

In the world of Aaltonen and LUX, you find yourself in the midst of summer, its colors and its madness. The nightly lake and its shores are filled with strange magic and creatures. You try to catch a glimpse of the forest spirit or your future spouse. Instead, you see a jester among the bushes. You are ready to enjoy and laugh at him. As you step closer, you notice the jester mocking death and laughing with the whole universe. A splash echoes on the lake, and you see only a flash of a tail on the surface. Was it a mermaid or just an ordinary pike? The night you enter is full of magic and dreams, but it reveals its desire to awaken you from the dream and the world of illusions into which the midsummer night's dreams have led you. The exhibition features oil paintings by Rauha Aaltonen and ceramic sculptures by AEON LUX.

The "Witch Hunt" body of work was presented at Galleria Rajatila in Tampere in 2019. The exhibition was with Duo artist Anna Matveinen. We had the entire gallery at our disposal. The exhibition addressed witch hunts as a historical concept and today's misogyny. The body of work examined the history of feminine esotericism and contemporary witchcraft. The body of work also included a workshop presented at the Super B! contemporary art festival in Turku in 2019.
